Racism back in style

As if we didn't already know that from the immigration debate, check out this segment from Fox News on voter fraud.

A few months back, Keith Olbermann made a reference to "sleek racism." This isn't even sleek. It's overt.

Kudos to TalkingPointsMemo, where I picked it up.

Racism in this country is like a dark-colored blazer. It never really goes out of style, it just changes the size of its shoulder pads. And waits for you in the back of your closet.

I thin it is a pretty far to scream "racism" simply because a news segment had b-roll of black people voting.

I'm just throwing this out there, but maybe there is a more simple explanation. The contract cameraman for the segment could have simply only gone to one polling site with a heavy black voter population and did all of his b-roll there.

False cries of "racism" such as this one do nothing but hurt your credibility and make it more difficult for actual victims of racism to prove their cases.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

It probably is that simple. But why shouldn't a news producer and contract cameraman be more careful about their efforts? It may be more simple... and yet much more complex.

What is there to be careful about? Is it somehow shocking to put black people on TV doing such things as voting?

To suggest it is racist to use b-roll of black people voting when the news story is discussing potential illegal voting is just plain stupid.
