More Left-Wing Communist America-Haters for Illegal Aliens

Cardinal Sean O'Malley, the archbishop of Boston, wrote this op-ed in yesterday's Boston Globe.
But before they are "illegal," they are human -- women and men with families, hopes and dreams, a determination to find a better life for their children. Their humanity, human dignity, and -- most of all -- their children have the first claim on our conscience as Americans.
...
At another time in history those people could have been us. Our shared respect for humanity and our faith in the promise of a better future calls us to do better.

Yes, we have people who are here illegally. What many don't realize is that when grabbed in immigration raids one is not in the situation of being innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. One is faced with the presumption of being illegla (sic), and lacks access to the mechanisms of the American legal system that are intended to protect against abusive actions by the government. If we will not address this issue now, we have no hope of addressing the true horrors of the MCA. And then the next step is the loss of protections for citizens merely on the basis of accusations by the government. Lest we forget, we have been down this route before, as we can see in the Korematsu decision.

I am not a papist, so I don't hold to his views. However, when the leaders of a church advocate positions that manifestly harm their adherents, they risk losing them. Even if the Catholic Church wins its case, its middle class supporters will dwindle as they find themselves prevailed upon to provide more and more money for the collection plate to support the newly imported poor that the Church advocates so fervently for.
It is about time that someone did what the federal government cannot--enforce immigration laws that are on the books. Hazleton's mayor deserves a pat on the back, not a boot in his behind. If the feds did their job, he wouldn't have to take these steps. And the ACLU should keep their noses out of it. They don't formulate legistlation, rather attempt to bypass it in the name of ?humanitarianism".
Felons from other countries, and thier children, should be deported. What part of that don't you morons get?
What is it about the American in CLU that you do not support? Why do you not listen to voices who are saying we do not want mass immigration of any kind. Why do you and George Bush tell us to shut up, move over and share hard-earned tax dollars from now non-existent jobs in this country for the purpose of adding more $$$,$$$'s to the fat pocketbooks of corporate CEOs from slave labor? We haven't been offered Mexican citizenship. Why should Mexicans be dual-citizens who obviously are allowed to go wherever and do whatever they please? How about supporting Americans, ACLU. How about it?
