Withholding evidence doesn't pay, to the tune of $101 mill
Whoa, two people and the estates of two others in Boston were awarded a $101 million judgment for being wrongly convicted and serving nearly 30 years in prison. The FBI sat on documents that would have cleared the men.

US Justice Department lawyers have argued that the FBI was not liable because it had no obligation to share internal documents with state prosecutors or defense lawyers, and that the state prosecuted the four men after conducting an independent investigation.
"The government's position is, in a word, absurd," Gertner said. (my bold)

Does it really suprise anyone that the government frames innocent people. It happens all the time. Corruption is rampant in all forms of government.
God bless the two men that have been given thier long overdue freedom, its a shame the other two died in prison unjustly.
Now let's see them collect. What do you think the odds are that they will ever see the dough?
I know. That was my first thougt, too.

And look who's in charge of the Justice Dept now...no morals anymore in government or corporations.
The current government should find and punish anyone left alive on this case that anything to do with this horrible miscarriage of justice! All monetary settlements should be paid to the victims immediately. There's an expression that goes something like this: "It is better to let a hundred guilty ones go free than to imprison a single one who is innocent."
Pay damages for withholding evidence? OUR government??? Yeah, right!! The FBI will pay those men their money on the same day they take the bounty off Assata Shakur's head...which, of course, would be the same day that pigs fly.
It's a crying, fighting, spitting shame. Everytime an incident like this comes to the light, I feel sick to my stomach for the victims of the God-knows-how-many cover-ups that will never be brought to truth.
